hi! i know it's been a long long time since i last posted! i was so busy preparing for this past weekend! i walked with my team, booblicious, in the susan g. komen breast cancer 3 day. the weekend was fantastic! it was inspiring and beautiful and challenging. my team did so well, i am so proud. we all completed the walk and it really showed me that our hardwork and training paid off. about 4,000 people walked this past weekend and we raised 9.5 million dollars! talk about incredible. i am so moved and touched by the people that i met this weekend.
there are lots of things in the works for dainty. i am in the process of designing my blog/website, etc. i now own www.daintyhandcrafted.com so hopefully that will be up and running soon!
i am also working on a lot of music-related projects. i am working with a few different artists these days and i'm really excited about some big events that we have planned for 2010.
speaking of 2010 .... can't believe how close it is. i love this time of year because i LOVE LOVE LOVE making goals. i know that i can make goals any time of the year (and i do) but i love making my list for the new year.
thanks for checking in, and please check back soon for more exciting posts!
lots of love,

skyler stonestreet in a bright yellow dainty*!
hello!
last week i had the pleasure of finally meeting Skyler Stonestreet. Skyler is a fantastic musician & has the cutest style ever. I love love love her music. it was super awesome for me that she really loved the dainty*s she saw on my site & requested a yellow one! i went to her show at lestats and got to give her the dainty* in person! yey. i know, i'm such a dork. but i get really excited about headbands, what can i say? Skyler was sweet enough to send me two pictures that her friend & photographer, Isaiah Garnica (www.igpics.com) took of her. aren't they awesome?!?! she totally made my day (week, month, year, whatever!)

here's a video from youtube of Skyler (singing my favorite song, "my favorite song")

consider this an early thanksgiving post of sorts!
hello my dears,
i wanted to post about the great team of people i have helping me with dainty. everyday i feel so grateful to have so many talented friends who have offered their help & support in my business adventure. i also wanted to share a little bit of my other endeavors ....
i am told daily how talented my photographer & graphic designer are, and i can't agree more. these women are incredible at what they do. they are the most helpful & patient women. (believe me, i send them lots of ridiculous emails all the time, i am very incompetent when it comes to technology) i really cannot thank kate daigneault & acacia betancourt enough for their time, expertise & creative input.
i also have a group of friends who are acting as my "board of advisors", these women have helped me set up excel spreadsheets, establish wholesale pricing, create displays, give me sales tips, and as of today, have gone with me to local boutiques to get information on how they do their buying. thank you to jenna, caela, carrie, alana & many others who have helped.
i am blessed to have friends in the music industry who have also helped with brainstorming & who have continued the fight to create and support independent art. your music & friendships continue to inspire me. jakob martin, derek evans, nick z, chad & earl of brodeeva, rob deez, your support means the world to me and i am so honored to have you as friends.
this past weekend nick introduced me to a new musician, nomi, based out of san francisco. i am so excited to share her with my readers. she is the cutest thing & has an incredibly unique sound. i really enjoyed her performance & am so glad that i got the chance to meet her! we traded headbands & cds, which is awesome! i love trades.
while this blog has obviously been focussed on my headband line, dainty*, i wanted to start branching out to share some of the other things i do. i am the wearer of many hats and thought this blog would be a good opportunity to start sharing my other happenings on. i think i will post once a week about the other things i'm doing - whether it be other craft projects or maybe even local events. i am still involved with the local music industry and i'd love to be able to help promote talented independent musicians. i think it's really important to build community appreciation for independent artistry.
so, look for upcoming posts about dain* as headband designer, dain* as musician consultant, dain* as wedding coordinator, dain* as nanny, dain* as a dairy free eater (hehe) & dain* as teacher.
again, i want to thank all of you for being an important part of this incredible journey! i have some new dainty* products in the works (read: necklaces, dog collars & accessories for boys) ... can't wait to bring them to life & share them with you!
remember that we are blessed to be here. enjoy life!

a long overdue post! with no pictures because i carried around my camera all week with no memory card ...
hello my loves!
let's see ... a lot has been happening.
1. dainty* is now being sold at whiteRAVEN on cedros in the design district. i am SO excited about this new opportunity. whiteRAVEN is a brand new acupuncture/chinese medicine studio that also has a retail boutique featuring local artists. wendy & brian are great - i had my first acupuncture treatment with them today!!! they really want to support local community efforts and i really believe in what they are doing. they have an absolutely beautiful space. it's great because on sundays the cedros farmer's market happens and there is a lot of foot traffic. i also hope to help them (because i believe that we should all work together to be successful at our respective businesses) build their clientele. i am so relaxed after my treatment (they are super affordable!) wendy is also a trained esthitician. please check out their site for more info! i am in love with this place.
2. on monday i had a business meeting with caela. caela & i worked for about 2 hours on a lot of the "business" ends of things. i am so pleased that i have compiled a great team of people to help me. caela & her sister jenna have been so helpful! (jenna set up excel spreadsheets for me, yey!) ... some VERY exciting things to come about wholesale purchasing. i am looking forward to getting dainty* out in to more stores.
3. my goal is to have the "breast cancer" dainty pins up on etsy tonight. all proceeds from the sale will go to the susan g. komen 3 day walk that i am participating in in november. october is breast cancer awareness month. thank you so much for the support! training has been going great, i'm walking with a great group of ladies. we actually have a meeting tonight & i can't wait to show them the pins!!! i know they will love them.
4. i received the infant headbands in the mail that i ordered! yes! i am so excited and will post pictures after i make a few tonight. these are super soft headbands designed for babies (under 1 or 2). i have a bunch of colors and can't wait to get them out there since i know so many people have been asking me about them for babies!
5. earlier this week i bought 65 yard of ribbon at paper tales! the new ribbon is absolutely gorgeous. i also made two new styles of dainty*s (necklaces) but i forgot to snap a pic before dropping them off at paper tales. i'll email michelle and have her take a pic! they are so so cute and now i'm obsessed with the idea of making more. i need to start scouring thrift stores and estate sales!!!
i'm sorry this post was so boring, but i was a moron and carried my camera around all week with no memory card. i took a few on my blackberry but they didn't turn out very good. i'll try to snap a few of some brand new headband designs tonight.
i have a lot of non-related dainty* projects in the works too, and i will share those with you shortly!
lots of love
